Homemade Detergent Recipe
How to make your own washing powder.
List of ingredients :
- 20g genuine Marseille horseshoe soap shavings
- 20g baking soda (deodorizes and brightens your laundry)
- 7g soda crystals
- 1L boiling water
Utensil list :
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g.1 tablespoon for 15 gr)
- 1 large container
- 1 or more glass bottles, depending on the quantity you are making
The steps :
- Mix together in a large container.
- Leave to cool, the detergent will thicken. Over time, if the lye begins to thicken, stir before each use.
USE: pour 1 dose (75 ml) into the drum or tub of your washing machine.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE TIP: Descale your machine regularly with a tablespoon of vinegar in the fabric softener tank (makes clothes soft and odorless) and occasionally run your machine on empty at 90°.
INFO: 750g of shavings can be used to make around 500 detergents.
Scrubbing cream recipe
How to make your own scouring cream.
List of ingredients :
- 50g baking soda
- 10g green clay
- 5g degreasing soda crystals
- 50g black soap
Utensil list :
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g. 1 tablespoon for 15 gr)
- 1 large container with a lid to hold the mixture
The steps :
- Mix together in a large container.
- Leave to rest for 24 hours. The dough will harden.
USE: Rub your damp sponge directly into the jar.
Thoroughly cleans all surfaces (ideal for kitchen sinks). Remember to rinse afterwards.
Recipe for washing-up liquid
How to make your own washing-up liquid.
List of ingredients :
- 6cl / 60ml boiling water
- 80g genuine Fer à Cheval Marseille soap shavings
- 2 tbsp. soda crystals
- 2 tbsp. baking soda
Utensil list :
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g. 1 tablespoon for 15 gr)
- 1 silicone or ice-cube mould
The steps :
- Heat over low heat (approx. 60°).
- Mix well.
- Pour into the silicone mould;
- Leave to dry for 48 hours.
If the soda rises, simply moisten again.
USE: Unmold and scrub with a sponge or dish brush.
