A 100% Made in Marseille Soap
Presented in its most authentic and purest form, our Marseille Soap offers you a Natural, healthy and effective alternative for the whole family and household cleaning.
Saponification in cauldrons
Our soap is made in a cauldron using the traditional Marseille method, a know-how passed down from generation to generation in our soap factory since 1856. This cooking guarantees an extra pure soap with a minimum of 72% Vegetable oils and brings all its recognized benefits to the skin.
A Natural and hypoallergenic soap
Made exclusively with Vegetable oils, its composition contains no added preservatives, dyes, fragrances, or animal fats. It does not contain palm oil.
Biodegradable and non-polluting, it is environmentally friendly.
The older the soap, the more concentrated and effective it becomes. This longevity makes it an ecological alternative to chemical cleaning and hygiene products.
The Fer à Cheval soap factory is a founding member of the UPSM (Union of Marseille Soap Professionals).

Olive pomace oil
The extraction of virgin olive oil leads to the creation of residues called olive pomace. These consist of the pulp of the fruit, fragments of pits, water and a small amount of residual olive oil. Our olive pomace oil, from the Mediterranean basin, is rich in fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants to nourish and protect the skin.
It can also be used as a multi-purpose household cleaner. It effectively cleans, degreases and removes stains from all surfaces and laundry, even the most delicate.
For household maintenance:
Clean walls and ceilings
There's nothing like Marseille Soap for washing and degreasing walls and ceilings. Dilute a handful of soap flakes in a bucket of hot water. Wash with a sponge mop and rinse with clean water.
Iron
Regularly clean the soleplate of the iron when it becomes dirty or yellow by rubbing a piece of dry soap on it when the soleplate is slightly warm. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth or a ball of newspaper to make the surface shine.
Mattress
To keep a mattress fresh and clean, simply wipe the surfaces to be cleaned with a washcloth dampened with Marseille Soap. Then, wipe again with a cloth soaked in clean water to rinse, and allow to dry all day.
Leather sofa care
Coat a washcloth or a moistened and well-wrung cloth with Marseille Soap and then gently massage the leather in circular motions. Dry with a clean cloth. This cleaning will bring suppleness and longevity to the leather.
Wooden deck
Regularly rid the terrace of mold, impurities and pollution accumulated over months by washing it with a scrub brush, a basin of hot water and a handful of diluted soap flakes. This simple and effective cleaning will help maintain your terrace over time.
For laundry care:
Homemade laundry detergent recipe
Dilute a handful or 40g of flakes in 1L of hot water and stir until you obtain a gel, the laundry detergent is ready to use. Store in a suitable bottle and shake well before each use.
For stubborn stains
Dilute 100g of flakes in 2L of hot water, add 1 cup of baking soda and ½ cup of white vinegar. Let cool and shake well before use.
In general, rub dry stains, shirt collars, and cuffs with moistened soap before machine or hand washing.p>
For more stubborn stains, proceed in the same way but leave to act for a few hours before washing.
Other tips:
Brushes, makeup sponges
Regular washing will remove dust particles and makeup residue that has accumulated over time. Gently lather the brushes without crushing them too much to avoid breaking the bristles. Repeat washing until the water is clear. Dry them with a dry cloth, then turn them upside down so that the brushes regain their initial shape.
Strollers, childcare equipment
Hypoallergenic, Marseille Soap is ideal for cleaning childcare equipment such as strollers. Wash removable covers in the machine with Marseille Soap flake detergent. For non-removable bed covers, wash with a sponge dampened with soap. For stubborn and smelly stains, rub with soap and a little baking soda, leave for a few hours to loosen the dirt, then rinse. Allow to dry thoroughly in the open air.
Shoes
Rub your shoes with a soft brush soaked in lukewarm water and Marseille Soap, and let them air dry without rinsing.
Store the Marseille Soap
Store your Marseille Soap in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. As a Natural product, its color and shape may change over time depending on its exposure to air, humidity and light. However, this will not affect its quality or effectiveness. Our grandmothers used to dry it for months in their closets so that it would become extra dry and last longer.
100% ingredients of Natural origin.
